Kitty Kitty
I have been working on this little kitty for several days here and there in between mowing the lawn and cleaning house. I used the natural dark gray wool from my sheep to sculpt him. For his whiskers I used some hairs from the mane of my parents horse.
I was eager to get his picture taken as I always am when finishing a project. It was sprinkling today when taking his picture and I had to lay down in the wet grass to get some good shots of him. It was cloudy and dreary but I think the pictures turned out ok.

Felting 101
So how do these soft fluffy fibers turn into something as solid and dense as felt fabric? Wool fibers have tiny crimps all along their length. This is what allows them to wrap around each other and hold tight during spinning in order to make yarn. These crimps also allow them to become hopelessly tangled among each other in order to create felt. The tricky part is getting it to turn into the shape you want!
