Three babies turned out to be a little more than “Mildred” could handle. The littlest kid “Fawn” was getting pushed out of the way by the two bigger kids. She has been getting some supplemental milk from a bottle for a few days now and seems to be doing much better. Tucker has claimed Fawn as his own and is quite happy that she will be a tame “bottle kid” now. Bottle kids and lambs are much easier to catch and hold or play with.

Felting 101
So how do these soft fluffy fibers turn into something as solid and dense as felt fabric? Wool fibers have tiny crimps all along their length. This is what allows them to wrap around each other and hold tight during spinning in order to make yarn. These crimps also allow them to become hopelessly tangled among each other in order to create felt. The tricky part is getting it to turn into the shape you want!
