It’s finally that time of year again, where the snow falls, music plays the sound of jingle bells everywhere, we all get cozy by fires and you know what that means…time to celebrate Christmas! What’s your favorite way to celebrate? Perhaps you started a new tradition of celebrating last year at home with our Felted Christmas Tree decorations. Last year was a first for us but this year we are excited as ever to get our tree and cover it head to toe in our felted creatures.
At Bear Creek, we’re quickly making preparations for our Christmas Concert Dinner along with winter on the farm. We just finished breeding season and our flock is now cozying up for snow. There is much to do. However, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our Yuletide celebrations and what we can cherish this year.
What I find most wonderful about this time of year is the amazing variety of traditions. Around the world, people celebrate by hanging wreaths, decorating trees, giving gifts, singing carols, and enjoying nativity plays, heartwarming movies, and even the ballet.
In my family, it’s no surprise that fiber arts is one of our favorite winter traditions. We always end up with unique, adorable gifts for our loved ones and an incredible (if I do say so myself) Christmas Tree. Perhaps you can even needle-felt your own Nativity scene. I have lots of ideas for getting crafty this holiday season here and don’t miss out on The Twelve Days of Felting this year. . oh what fun it was last year!
Although it may seem too soon it is also that time of year of reflection, how will we do and be better next year? With that in mind I encourage everyone to think about taking up Needle Felting for their New Year’s resolutions. We have plenty of classes coming up in 2023 including a holiday favorite, Snowman Class, and even more in our Needle Felting Academy.
A membership in the Academy is the perfect gift, as you can give your loved one a relaxing way to express themselves.
