Naughty or Nice? Who Made the Cut This Year? It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays. A time for peace, rest, celebration, snow, and togetherness. It’s also a time for that list… you know the one. “He’s making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out who’s naughty or nice.”

While children all around the world are hoping they made Santa’s nice list, at Bear Creek Felting we’re making our own list. We’re looking back at various happenings from around the Nome Schoolhouse and deciding who was naughty and who was nice.

First up, we have the Rams! What do you think? Naughty list or nice list?

Let’s take a look at what these amazing animals and friends of Bear Creek Felting were up to over the past year.

When we built new pens and fences to separate the rams, we imagined a smooth transition for them. But our friends had other plans. The first morning we woke up to see two destroyed pens and all of the ewes together in one pen.

Everytime we moved them, they’d end up breaking those nice, new fences to try to get to each other. It was a time. It was definitely a time. It got those rambunctious rams on the naughty list for sure!

Next, we have our friend, the retired veterinarian. This past year, our sheep came down with salmonella. Those poor babies. It was awful. I do not recommend you or your animals getting salmonella, just an FYI.

Well, when the sheep got sick, we had a hero come to the rescue. Our retired vet friend dropped everything and came out to the Nome Schoolhouse to take care of our sheep and nurse them back to health. When someone you love is so ill, it’s easy to feel stuck and unsure how to proceed. That’s where we were until our friend went out of his way and came to work a miracle.

You guessed it; he’s definitely on the nice list this year. As are those sweet little sheep that had to suffer from that nasty illness.

If you’re keeping score, that’s rams- naughty, vet and sheep- nice. However, the good news is that Santa loves all of our animals and the Elves are huge fans of felting presents. (We may or may not keep those elves all stocked up on needle felting lessons and supplies). Santa will be visiting all of our animals this year, even those naughty rams.

Will he gift the Bear Creek Ranch with ram-proof fences, though? I guess that remains to be seen.
