Motivation is always in abundance at New Year…New Year, New you! We all enjoy setting those New Year’s Resolutions, we are beyond excited for everyone who was lucky enough to get one of our kits under their tree! Needle felting in the perfect New Years Resolution and we are welcoming nebiews into our Academy daily! Which of course, makes our hearts very happy.

Another day that we celebrate at the beginning of the year is ROC Day….If it weren’t for those fast finger spinners back in the day, this beautiful craft may not exist today! ROC day is the day the spinners returned to work after 2 weeks of swapping the grind of spinning for holiday baking and family activities! It is rumoured that as the men didn’t return to the farm until the following Monday, the first few days of ‘back to work for the spinners’ often resulted in welcomed merriment and a relaxed start to the year.

As our very own processing mill takes shape in the Nome Schoolhouse, we welcomed following in the footsteps of tradition and enjoyed a festive fuelled couple of weeks with our families.

Wishing you all a prosperous New Year and hopefully welcoming you into our spinners home (aka the Nomes School house) later this year!

Happy felting!
