When we formed Shepherd Industries, LLC we decided we wanted to save an old historic building to house our business instead of building brand new facilities. After looking at several abandoned schools we fell in love with the Nome Schoolhouse. We love it’s majestic appeal and that history had virtually stood still here.
Knowing this would be more expensive than building from scratch we embraced the challenge and pushed forward. The more involved in the process we became and the more we were embraced by those in the community, we knew we had to succeed. The support and excitement from everyone in the community has been very humbling and we aim to get this done and save the Nome Schoolhouse from further deterioration and probable demolition.
Realizing what a financial commitment this is we have heard that there are those of you out there that would graciously like to help. We have run into several roadblocks already and preliminary costs have exceeded our expectations. We would like to give you the opportunity to help us out financially.
Help us save this beautiful building, bring a growing business to Nome, ND, educate those about the fiber industry and the agricultural side of the fiber industry, offer classes and ND made items as well as offer employment to those in the area along with a wonderfully unique wedding and event center.
We need and greatly appreciate your help.
