Description
It is done by taking two or more strands of yarn that each have a twist to them and putting them together.The strands are twisted together, in the direction opposite that in which they were spun.
In our session, we will create a 2 ply yarn, 3 ply yarn, and play
single ply unassisted. Can use spindle or spinning wheel.Will be spinning with Romney, Merino and Cotswold wool.
Bring your own spindle, spinning wheel, ball winder, and niddy noddy.
We will learn to make 6 different looking yarns by changing our plying technique.
We can achieve two different looking yarns from one single variegated one ply yarn. We will learn both methods.. plying on itself and Navajo-plying. We’ll talk about how to plan your yarn and your project.
This is a two ply–balanced yarn for knitting or weaving.
We’re adding a little sparkle… yes, literally adding beads to our two ply yarn.
This is our “wild child” yarn.. with curls all over.
There will be extra equipment available.
