ABOUT THE PRODUCT
Brown Wool for Needle Felting
Bring the earthy richness of brown tones to your needle felting projects with our premium wool, available in a wide variety of warm, natural shades. Each color is sold in 0.5 oz portions—perfect for adding depth, texture, and realism to animals, landscapes, and detailed designs.
What Makes Our Wool Different
This isn’t just wool that’s been processed for felting—it’s created for it from the very beginning.
Our flock is selectively bred for felting performance, producing fiber with the ideal crimp, texture, and strength to felt quickly, firmly, and smoothly.
After shearing, the wool is processed in our own mill and carded into airy sliver (often called roving)—not combed. This keeps the fibers open with a natural “grab,” so they:
- Felt faster
- Hold their shape beautifully
- Require less effort and frustration
One wool that works from start to finish—no need for separate core and top wool.
From Our Farm to Your Hands
- Raised on our North Dakota farm (with additional wool from trusted local shepherds)
- Processed and carded in our own mill
- Hand-dyed in small batches
Every step is done with intention, resulting in wool that is consistent, reliable, and a pleasure to work with.
Color Variation Notice
Our wool is dyed in small batches using natural fiber. Because each fleece varies slightly in base color and fiber structure, subtle differences between dye lots may occur.
These natural variations are part of what makes real wool so beautiful—and give your work added depth and character.
Perfect For
- Needle felted animals (bears, bunnies, squirrels, and more)
- Building and shaping forms
- Adding depth, shading, and natural texture
- Beginners and experienced felters alike
Wool That Works With You
This is wool that’s been raised, bred, and prepared specifically for needle felting—not adapted from another purpose.
Once you feel the difference, you’ll understand why so many felters choose Bear Creek wool for their work.
