Have you met my Daughter Libbie? She attends most shows with me, plus I have shared her knitting in the past. Libbie wanted to learn how to knit when she was 7 years old. I found a book and learned the basics of knitting so that I could show her how. Since those early days she has really taken off with her knitting and has gone way beyond what I taught her in the beginning. She loves colorwork as you can see in the pictures. After making an entrelac sheep from a pattern she went on to develop a giraffe, chicken, whale and horse from that pattern. When she was 8 she asked for a lamb for her birthday and we now have a flock of 60 sheep. 🙂 She has her own flock and enjoys showing her sheep at our county fair. I love to buy her birthday and Christmas gifts that feed her passion. Last year she knit a dress for the North Dakota Make it with Wool competition, she won and went on to represent North Dakota in the National Competition. She is currently getting ready for the 2015 Make it with wool competition and is designing her own sweater. (Pictures coming soon) She is also spinning all the yarn for the sweater from our own wool. Below are some pictures of some of Libbie’s knitting, not all, just a sample.
oh wow, she does beautiful work!! I’m still a novice knitter, and I haven’t worked on anything for quite some time so I’m likely rusty as well!
