It’s that time of year! Fall has arrived and brought with it – World Animal Day. All around the globe on October 4th animal lovers celebrated and embraced animals of all species.
On World Animal Day participants provided education, volunteered their time, and brought attention to the causes integral to animal welfare. We at Bear Creek Felting, as you know, love animals of all kinds. It’s all about protecting and appreciating animals. We honor all animals of all kinds, just last month we celebrated National Bunny Day, and why wouldn’t you? They are adorable!
The World Animal Day Mission
World Animal Day is when we all work to raise the status of the animals of the world to improve their standards of living. By increasing awareness and providing education World Animal Day strives to create a world where animals are seen as intelligent and feeling beings that need to be cared for.
The Animals of Bear Creek Felting
We have some wonderful, fun-loving critters of our own. You can enjoy ours any day of the year by learning to felt. Join our academy and make your own special animal to celebrate this time of year! You can create all sorts of felted creatures with Bear Creek, ducklings, penguins, dragons, you name it! Share your love of felting and animals all at the same time! Whether you’re a beginner or a full on felting wizard, you can find a cute little animal to create with us.
As well as our felted herd, we have many animals that we look after at Nome Schoolhouse. Check out our Corriedale Sheep, we welcomed more of them home this summer and we’re loving them. They have wool that’s soft and durable at the same time. It’s great for felting!
We could celebrate Animal Day everyday, in fact, we pretty much do. Whether we are felting one of our favourite animals, looking after our flock or hugging our beloved pets, we think World Animal Day should be everyday!!
Chris & Teresa
Just a quick thank you for a fun weekend trip to the Nome Schoolhouse. The school was spectacular, more then we ever thought possible! We will certainly be back again next summer. Hopefully with some sheep and Fred & Barney to visit. (and of course you two also). Thanks to Libbie and Katie and all your staff for all their work for just two guests!
