I don’t know about you, but if I don’t do something with my hands each day, I start to get antsy! Needless to say that it’s pretty easy for us to always get our hands dirty here on the farm.

However, in our world today, we’re always glued to our phones or sitting behind our laptops. For most people, there aren’t many opportunities to be quiet, slow, and methodical…because we’re always on the run.

Indulging in a needle felting session is the best way to improve your mood, your skills, and even your wellness! Are you ready to turn your hobby into a habit and create some feel-good routines in the process?

Craft Daily
Needle felting shouldn’t feel like a chore, but you should make a point to craft at least once a day—even if it’s only for a few minutes! Your evening craft session could involve felting a bear’s arm, a butterfly wing, or entire figurines. By chipping away at a project, it will keep you connected while helping you to ease tension at the end of a busy day.

Get used to cozying it up in your craft space after work. Get intentional with the pieces you create and know that with each stab of the needle, you’re one step closer to your project and a relaxed state of mind.

Enjoy Life Offline
Can you remember what it was like to live in a world without the constant buzzing, vibrating, and dinging of our emails, phones, and social media alerts? Man, I sure wish we could go back to those times.

By making a habit of needle felting, you’ll also make a habit of minimizing your screen time! It’s amazing what an hour away from Facebook can do to your psyche.

Reduce eye strain, improve your sleep, and increase your focus by stepping away from the devices and into a clear headspace where you can needle felt creations from your wildest dreams.

Let Your Creativity Flow
Too often, I hear people say, “Oh, I could never do that. I’m not creative.” Uh-uh, nope, not true! Creativity is just like anything else, it takes work!

Sure, some people are creative down to their core, they see things other people can’t, and they can bring their dreams to reality. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t do it too!

Creativity is a muscle, and if you want to unlock new levels of artistry, you have to practice. Once you start with needle felting, you’ll notice how easy it is to pick up new forms of crafts.

All it takes is overcoming that first hurdle to realize that you can do this. You are creative. And you deserve an outlet that allows you to be as colorful, whimsical, and as playful as you want to be—a nice break from the monotony of everyday life, right?

In the Bear Creek Felting Academy, we have loads of diverse crafters who start as hobbyists and end up creating beautiful pieces that they sell online, at their community farmers’ markets, or local craft fairs.
