I love getting new crafters hooked on needle felting! So much so that I developed lots of resources for every stage of your journey and multiple learning styles. This week I wanted to spotlight a few great resources to support you in your needle felting craft!

Needle Felting 101

The best place to start and become familiar with what needle felting is all about is to read my “101” guide or download my free book. Each will give you an overview and get you excited about what you can create. You’ll also become familiar with the terms and some basic techniques. If you are looking for some inspiration or want to understand what you can do with a needle and wool, visit the gallery.

Next, you’ll be ready for supplies! I always wanted to provide complete kits to people, so they never have to guess at what was needed to do a project. So in my shop, you’ll find supplies as well as kits to support your growing habit!

Your Online Classroom

Now that you have the basics, you’ll probably want a little instruction. I created an EweTube channel for just this purpose! If you’re a visual learner, you’ll find instructional topics, highlights of my farm, samples of mywork, and even how our Bear Creek Bunnies came to be. Enjoy going headfirst down the rabbit hole (pun intended!) and learn all you can about needle felting!

Don’t forget to visit this blog regularly to get the scoop on the latest tips, ideas, and inspiration for your new favorite craft!

Looking for a Community of Support?

I mention The Bear Creek Needle Felting Academy often, but I realized I haven’t really talked about it for a while. I am so very proud of the progress made by students ranging from beginners just getting started to experienced needle felters working on their technique. You will be amazed at what you can create with someone right there with you every step of the way.

The Academy is a membership community offering you access to an ever-growing variety of video courses, the ability to chat with me and other members in the forums or Private Facebook group, as well as share pictures of your projects and receive feedback on your work. Plus, new courses are added on a regular basis. You’ll receive the support and direction you need to thoroughly enjoy the process of needle felting with the right materials and tools plus many time-saving secrets. Join today!

Feeling Generous?

Whether you are looking for great holiday gifts or just want to get a friend to join you in needle felting some incredible creatures, we have lots of choices.

For someone getting started, check out our Essential Needle Felting Tools for everything needed to create original animals, including a wool sampler, working surfaces, needles, and more. If you have an idea of the type of animal someone might want to create, check out our kits which have everything you need from start to finish.

I also have an Etsy shop where I not only sell complete kits but also sometimes offer finished animals. So many people are passionate about the Etsy community, I just had to be a part of it!

If you’re still not sure, a gift card slips perfectly into a stocking or holiday card. You might want to add it to your own list in hopes you are the recipient this season!
