Let’s have a moment of truth here, we never could have imagined how 2020 turned out, let alone the start to 2021! But here we are, more resilient than ever and full of pent up excitement to achieve all that we had hoped in the last year.
My take? What’s stopping you from taking action towards your dreams now? If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that we cannot predict the future and therefore should embody the present and live without an ounce of regret! It’s been a magical year for us, watching our own Academy community pull together and unite over Needle Felting. Since the day I step foot in that room of Needle Felters, I have felt like I belonged. To be able to extend that all over the world, has been a dream come true!
We’ve seen time and time again how crafting improves mental health, lessens anxiety and builds self esteem! In a time where so many are suffering from those exact concerns, the power of a little needle, pillow and ball of wool becomes even more poignant! And we couldn’t be more excited to shout about it! After all, we’ve always known the love those little figures on our mantel emit!
Here are our 3 ways ewe will never feel alone with Needle Felting…
1. Passion is infectious.
So many turn to Needle Felting, thinking it’ll be a fun way to keep their hands busy and get a little creative, unbeknownst to the oodles of passion and fulfillment each masterpiece floods them with! When I first started, I became obsessed with gaining knowledge and learning from those ahead of me…this resulted in my own passion skyrocketing! That word boredom? From the moment i picked up my felting needle, has never been heard of since!
2. We’re a friendly bunch.
I’ve never met a group quite like it…I guess as a community founder, your biggest fear is lack of friendship and rapport between members. Well I ought to have left that worry at the door! Whether people are newbies, just receiving one of our beginner kits or have been felting for years, our Academy members offer each other guidance, advice and most of all friendship. My heart is warm just thinking about it!
3. Learning is rewarding.
The biggest feedback from our customers is the rewarding nature of Needle Felting! I hear so many feeling a lack of accomplishment during the last year and that makes my heart ache. I wish for everybody to experience the joy and pride after completing their first or 59th figure! I can tell you from experience, the sense of pride never dissipates! Sharing creations as a surprise post or even via zoom can help to boost morale and let somebody know you are thinking of them.
Having a huge family means our house has always been on the side of chaos (adored chaos ofcourse) Last year tested my empty nest, but with this community and my flock of sheep, I was kept busy and spirits remained high!
