Can you believe it? We made it to 2023! The rams are celebrating, the sheep are celebrating, and we are most definitely celebrating! At Bear Creek Felting, we rang in the New Year with a bang. You should have seen those sheep dancing the night away. The rams tried to join in but we finally got them secured within their new (and unbroken) fences.
Now that we’ve made it to the new year, we are so ready to get this party started. We have some exciting things on the horizon coming in 2023 and we just can’t wait to share them with you. So, without further adieu…
We have some new and exciting stuff coming to the Academy this year! The Academy platform is new AND we have an app. We’re so excited about this change and how it will impact the Bear Creek Felting community.
With the new platform and app we’re going to build a well-connected and engaging BCF Academy community. There will be way more activity including picture sharing and chatting. Yes, that means you’ll be able to show off your creations, get advice, and even engage in a little small talk and recipe sharing with your Academy friends.
One of the fun things coming to the platform is a before and after photo feature. You’ll be able to post a photo of what you’re working on and the BCF community will share ideas and feedback on it. Once you’ve received advice and gone back to finish your creation, share the completed, updated version with everyone. We know, the excitement is palpable!
We are doing a bison (buffalo) challenge in the academy for the month of January to start and finish a Bison.
2023 is going to be amazing, can’t you just feel it? We’re jumping into the year feet first as we create the best year of Bear Creek Felting yet! Here are some things you’ll want to check out to get the year started right:
The Hearts and Flowers Felting Retreat with Jean Hainlen is coming February 3-4. You won’t want to miss two days of felting incredible colorful flower-based creations. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, start planning your crafts now; purchase some Valentine sampler wool which will be available soon, and take the Valentine bouquet and garland course in the Academy, or buy a deluxe needle felting kit to stock up on the things you need this year.
